Two pages together Conf programmeThis special Earth Day conference will bring together critical voices from across politics, academia, stakeholders, campaigners, and affected communities to explore how we can collectively rise to the challenge of cutting our climate pollution fast enough to stay within the legally-binding pollution limits adopted on a cross-party basis by the Dáil and fairly enough to “leave no one behind.”

The Earth Day conference will have the following sessions: Political Leadership For Faster And Fairer Climate Action; Speaking Up For Faster And Fairer Climate Action; Our Energy Future.

The conference will include the following speakers: Hannah Daly, Professor in Sustainable Energy and Energy Systems Modelling at University College Cork; Kevin Cunnigham, lecturer in Politics at TU Dublin, and MD and Founder at Ireland Thinks; as well as Eamon Ryan, Minister for Environment, Climate and Communications.

This conference also marks a special year for Friends of the Earth - it's our 50th birthday! Our unwavering commitment to environmental and social justice stems from 50th years of campaigning; we’re resilient, plucky, courageous and we know how to do things well - with expertise you can rely on. We’ve been privileged to spend a half century working with, and learning from, community groups, grassroots campaigns, academic experts and a wide range of stakeholders from across Ireland – building five decades’ worth of knowledge, skills and community wisdom. We're looking forward to sharing some of what we've learnt, and learning lots more from our guest speakers and participants, during this very special Earth Day conference.
