Election pledge asking candidates to commit, if elected as a T.D. to Dáil Eireann to

•  oppose the importation of US fracked Gas into Ireland via LNG import terminals.
• work to find a way in the next Dáil to prevent fracked Gas from entering the Irish energy mix via fixed or floating LNG terminals.
• oppose Fracking in Northern Ireland.
• work constructively in the next Dáil to prevent fracking from taking place in Northern Ireland.

Love Leitrim were instrumental to ensuring the ban on Fracking in Ireland passed. We thought we were safe from frackers.  Now we ar faced with fracking in Fermanagh, and building an import terminal to become the European hub for US fracked gas.  The previous Government were fully supportive, particularly of the import terminal in Shannon, and are actually currently recommending it for subsidies and special licencing procedures at the European Parliament.  We cannot allow the next Government to think this plan is ok!  

Love Leitrim are asking all candidates in GE 2020 to support the Pledge4Climate so that Ireland says no to more fracking.  Please help by using the tool here to email the candidates in your constituency and ask them to sign up.  We need everyone elected to know that the people of Ireland say no to more fracking.  

Check out Roisin from Love Leitrim who managed to get the Youth Parliament to agree to no more fracking.  If only all our politicans were like this!
