Dublin Friends of the Earth, the capital's new local Friends of the Earth group, is holding it's first monthly meeting this Thursday, 6th Novembert at 7.30pm, upstairs in The Lord Edward pub, Christchurch Place, Dublin 8.

In their open invitation Simon Phelan and Victoria White, who have taken the initiative and kick-started the group say:

"If you want to get involved, please come along. We are open to all suggestions for actions to raise public and political awareness of our perilous global environmental situation and what we can do about it. The theat to the EU climate change limits posed by Italy and Poland should be in our minds, as well as the UK's Climate Change Law."

They were already busy campaigning before they decided to form a Friends of the Earth group, organizing a debate with politicians back in January and delivering the a tonne of coal to the office of the new Minister for Finance on his first day in May.

Can you join them to ratchet up the pressure for action? A local group needs a real mix of skills, so if you've been waiting for the right moment to get more involved, this is it!
