Friends of the Earth calls for a full investigation

"Friends of the Earth has said the oil spill is a disaster that will almost certainly cause serious damage to marine life. With the Russians now denying that they had anything to do with the spill, a full investigation needs to be launched into the incident. Friends of the Earth calls for full co-operation from the Russian authorities in any investigation by the Irish agencies.

Friends of the Earth Policy Officer, Molly Walsh, said
"The environmental impact will be particularly damaging when the oil spill reaches our South East coast in 16 days. The repercussions will not only be ecological but also economic as the South East coast is a particularly attractive tourist area."
