11 Feb 2009

Are you a potential board member of Friends of the Earth?

Since our launch in 2004 Friends of the Earth has become Ireland's highest profile environmental NGO. As the challenge of tackling climate change becomes more urgent, we must grow our organisation to enable us to meet this challenge and secure the necessary changes.

We are seeking experienced people to help us make this breakthrough. Friends of the Earth Ireland is at an exciting and critical time in it's development and this is your chance to make sure we can continue influence and shape policy and action at home and globally.

We are looking to expand our board and ensure that it reflects our supporter base including appropriate geographical and gender balance. We are seeking people with an interest in improving the environment and experience of fundraising, business development, NGO governance, supporter recruitment, activism development, communications, strategic planning or finance.

If you have experience in one or more of the above areas, then we would like to hear from you. You will need to be available to attend and participate in board meetings which take place on 6 evenings a year in Dublin, commitment to our aims and experience of working on boards.
