Sick of Plastic, our campaign partnered with VOICE Ireland, hosted a webinar on to discuss the new documentary 'The Story of Plastic' and the growing movement in Ireland and worldwide to break free from plastic and fossil fuels.

The Story of Plastic is the story BIG PLASTIC does not want you to see. The film takes a sweeping look at the man-made crisis of plastic pollution, from extraction of fossil fuels to plastic waste replacing fish in our Oceans, and to explore Ireland's role in tackling these issues.

Watch Resisting Mining and Fossil Fuel Projects Webinar

Last Wednesday, Earth Day, ourselves and Not Here Not Anywhere co-hosted a webinar to explore the challenges faced and lessons learnt when resisting mining & fossil fuel projects.

We heard from Esteban who is campaigning against fracking in Argentina, Fidelma who is working with a group called Save our Sperrins against the onslaught of gold mining in Northern Ireland, and Aideen who is part of Not Here Not Anywhere who are pushing for an end to fossil fuel exploration both in Ireland and abroad.

How do we think about climate while our government and our health workers are focused on the immediate threat of COVID-19?

The One Future Campaign hosted this webinar last week to explore this question.

When we are all pulling together to ensure that the most vulnerable members of our are society being protected how do we talk about how climate and biodiversity breakdown remains the context for all our collective challenges?

Speakers include Oisín Coghlan, director of Friends of the Earth and coordinator of Stop Climate Chaos, Dr. Sandra Green from Irish Doctors for the Environment, Cliona Sharkey, head of policy at Trócaire and Sadhbh O'Neil, policy officer at Stop Climate Chaos. The discussion is facilitated by Áine O'Gorman, Activism Support for Stop Climate Chaos.
