SYSTEM:RESET Youth Assemblies July 2021

Are you aged under 30? Or do you know a young person of that age who is interested in climate action and social justice?
We've got a fantastic series of online youth assemblies lined up this month. These assemblies will give young people an opportunity to explore the root causes of climate change and inequality - and come up with solutions to these big issues to be raised with political leaders. Could you share this special invitation with the young people in your life?
The assemblies are open to young people under 30 years of age - who register before our deadline of 5pm on 16th July. They are part of the pan European SYSTEM:RESET project, which aims to build strong, collective youth visions for a socially just and ecologically sound future.
Our first youth assembly will take place from 6-8pm on 20th July and will focus on Health Justice and the Green New Deal - exploring how we can act to put the health of people and planet first. Soaring inequalities are damaging the physical and mental health of millions - with the pandemic only making things worse for those who are already on the margins. It’s time to reverse these trends - this will require major political action.
Our second youth assembly will take place on 21st July from 11am-1pm and focus on Economic Justice and the Green New Deal. We’ll explore the need to transform our economy to lift communities out of poverty and tackle unemployment as part of a Just Energy Transition.
Our third youth assembly will explore the challenges and opportunities of tackling the Accommodation Crisis in Ireland as part of a Just Transition. It will take place on 22nd July from 5pm-7pm. With one in four people across Europe living in energy poverty we need to take urgent action to warm homes, not our climate.
We will be holding a national youth assembly in September with key decision makers where we will be feeding in youth visions and demands collated from these summer youth assemblies.
Will you join us to ensure young people’s voices are heard? Don’t forget - participants must sign up before our registration deadline of 16th July at 5pm.
