One Future is a network of campaign groups across Ireland supported by the Stop Climate Chaos coalition, of which Friends of the Earth is the secretariat member. One Future groups campaign for faster and fairer climate action within their constituencies and communities by building local campaigns and lobbying local TDs.

In December, together with Stop Climate Chaos, Friends of the Earth supported One Future in hosting Ireland’s biggest ever climate lobby where over 1,200 people meet their TDs via Zoom calling for faster and fairer climate action. A prominent government minister called it the "most professional lobby event" he had ever attended! At the end of the lobby day, people joined an online rally calling for Faster and Fairer Climate Action. It was so amazing to come together like this, especially when we haven't been able to demonstrate together for a long time.

Since the lobby day, One Future groups have continued meeting their TDs and campaigning on climate related issues. You can join the action too, by signing up here to be connected with One Future campaigners in your area.

With the Climate Bill moving through the Dáil and an upcoming public consultation on Ireland's climate action, there’s lots of campaigning about to kick off! Be sure to sign up to the campaign to be the first to hear more about this - we’ll keep you posted via our emails too.

The work Friends of the Earth has been doing to support these groups is largely down to our supporters who continue to support us financially. Our recent Christmas appeal was to fund this work, and we are very grateful to those who chipped in to make this possible. We’re looking forward to another exciting year of One Future activity in 2021!

Check out this video that our Communications Coordinator, Deirdre Duff, made to celebrate One Future's first year and all that has been achieved!
