Learning Hub Update
Posted by Claudia Tormey on February 22, 2021 at 06:23 PM
The Learning Hub is a carefully curated space for discussion, critical thinking, peer education and building a sense of solidarity.
Our most recent cycle of the Learning Hub aims to create conversations hinging around themes and issues that arise in the following four books;
- Climate Justice: Hope, Resilience, and the Fight for a Sustainable Future by Mary Robinson
- Violent Borders: Refugees and the Right to Move by Reece Jones
- On Fire: The Burning Case for a Green New Deal by Naomi Klein
- Hope in the Dark: Untold Histories, Wild Possibilities by Rebecca Solnit
For each book we are hosting a webinar and an interactive workshop. We'll also share a read and watch list to explore more the topics at hand.
So far we've explored Mary Robinson’s book Climate Justice: Hope, Resilience, and the Fight for a Sustainable Future with a webinar breaking down the topic of climate justice in Ireland and globally with Nathan Thanki from the Demand Climate Justice Campaign, Sean McCabe from TASC and Ciara Murphy from the Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice. If you missed this webinar, you can watch it back here. And you can dip into our Climate Justice Read and Watch List here.
We also held an interactive workshop with the lead researcher of the groundbreaking Framing Climate Justice project. The workshop will be available to watch back soon.
The next book being brought into focus will be Violent Borders: Refugees and the Right to Move by Reece Jones. We’ll be sharing more about the activities around this book in the coming weeks.
