Summary
On 2nd April the Government published their long awaited, revised, National Climate Change Strategy. By their own admission there is more a compilation of the various initiatives that have been announced over the last year than a bold new blueprint for a post-carbon Ireland. It represents a gentle application of the brakes for Ireland's spiralling climate pollution rather than the sea-change that is needed. It reamains however the new benchmark for public policy debate on Irish climate change policy.
