Will you put your heads in the sand with us?

For those within striking distance of Dublin two events in the next 8 days:

We would love you to join us for a "Heads in the Sand" photo stunt on Sandymount Strand this Saturday 4th July at 11am.

Our government just isn't taking climate change seriously.

We’re only 5 months away from major climate talks that will decide the future of global climate action. Yet the government is about to finalize a Climate law that doesn’t even set a target for emission reductions by 2050. They have no Action Plan on how to cut our climate pollution to 2020 (the last plan finished in 2012) and they have made no financial pledge to help support communities worst affected by climate change impacts.

It's clear that this government have their heads in the sand on climate change and it's time to highlight that!

Join us for a family-friendly mass photo stunt to highlight government inaction on climate change.

Saturday 4th July 11.00 Sandymount Strand

Bring your family, friends, buckets and spades and help us to get the message out that the time for action is now!

Bill McKibben was in Ireland last week for Trocaire's Climate Justice 2015 conference. It was a great couple of days and you can get a sense of it from these two media compilations of Day One and Day Two. There's also Blogs by Lorna Gold and the Trocaire comms team. Videos of the speeches will be online here later in the week.

See you on Saturday I hope.

All the best,

Heather and the Friends of the Earth team

P.S. Please forward this email or share the Facebook event with anyone who might be interested in a trip to the beach on Saturday.
